i learned from a friend today that there are other istari that tolkien actually wrote about. by other, i mean other than saruman, gandalf, and radagast. he says they all went to the west, and that one of them was "(name) the blue".
i can't find my guide to middle-earth anywhere, as i live in a state of constant mess. does anyone know of these other istari? thanks.

I want to say that there are two blue wizards: Alatar and Pollando, the latter of which is probably not talked about because of his unfortunate name. xD

As for their histories or purposes, or what rank blue is in comparison with grey, white, and brown, I haven't the slightest idea. The Istari are not my specialty. Heh.
